Melanie Kidder - CanFitPro Fitness Instructor Specialist

My name is Melanie Kidder. I’m a certified CanFitPro Fitness Instructor Specialist and Personal Training Specialist.  I currently teach Pound Fitness, Urban Poling Walking (Nordic Pole Walking) and several formats of Zumba, including regular Zumba, Zumba Gold and Zumba Kids. I am also licensed to teach Zumba Toning, Zumba Sentao and Aqua Zumba. I offer classes for everyone from children to seniors, in all formats mentioned.  I am also currently taking new personal training clients.

I am a mother (to 3 cats!) and a wife. My husband and I love to spend our time together going on all sorts of adventures. We enjoy water sports, snowboarding, hiking, hunting, playing sports, and finding new ways to keep active on a daily basis.

Several years ago, after watching some of my loved ones struggle in their senior years, while also dealing with an immobilizing back injury of my own, I realized  I wanted to be fit and active well into my retirement.  I want to continue enjoying all of our favourite hobbies and to say “YES” to fun opportunities. This is my main motivation for living an active life.

I also think fitness is more fun as a community.  I have met so many wonderful friends through my work as a fitness instructor.  Not only do we have fun in classes but we do monthly community events where we try out different activities in Edmonton and area, such as the aerial park, walking ghost tours, snow tubing,  the corn maze and going for walks in the amazing river valley system.

I love sharing my passion for being healthy and fit with others. I don’t believe everyone has to be a certain size or be able to run a marathon. I DO believe, however, that we can be fit, healthy and live an awesome, active life.  I have a passion for clean eating and cooking my own food from scratch.

I help my clients find a way to incorporate clean eating into their busy lives. I work with them to move and be as active as they are able and, along the way, discover their own motivation for active living.

What’s yours? Let’s get active and find out together.
